Ystrad Service Centre Ltd is a growing independent garage with a strong reputation for advanced diagnostics, electrical fault finding, routine servicing, repairs, and MOT testing. We're looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Vehicle Repair Technician to join our forward-thinking workshop team.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out detailed vehicle inspections and accurately recording findings
- Performing servicing, maintenance, and complex repairs to a high standard
- Replacing timing chains, belts, and other major components in line with manufacturer specifications
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment
- Supporting and mentoring junior technicians where appropriate
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain an efficient workshop environment
- Participating in ongoing training to stay up to date with vehicle technology
- Contributing to continuous improvement across workshop operations
What we're looking for:
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a qualified vehicle technician
- Experience using manufacturer repair systems
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Main dealer experience at a senior level
Desirable experience:
- Premium brands such as JLR, BMW, or VAG
- OE systems including Pathfinder, Topix, ODIS, and ISTA
- Workshop software such as AutoData, HaynesPro, and Garage Hive
- Four-wheel alignment using Hunter equipment
- Qualified MOT Tester (Class 4, 5L and 7)
What we offer:
- £40,000 - £55,000 salary depending on experience
- 33 days annual leave including bank holidays and Christmas closure
- Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 5:15pm (45 hours per week)
