We invite applications from dedicated candidates to join the conscientious team at Ysgol y Wern. This is an opportunity to join a successful school in North Cardiff that is keen to promote Welsh medium education in the capital. There are 676 pupils on the register, making it one of the largest schools in the city. Classes are divided into 3 classes per year, which offers teachers the opportunity to plan together.

The last inspection of the school was in January 2018. Under the Teachers and Higher Education Act 1998 and the Education (Mandatory Registration) Wales Regulations 2000, all qualified teachers employed in maintained schools must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC). These positions are subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks.

Internal candidates wishing to apply for this position on secondment must obtain permission before applying by completing the SEC1 form (4.C.081). Permission will be required from the relevant Chief Officer or another nominated senior officer, at a level not lower than OM2, or from the Headteacher / Governing Body in the case of school staff.
