Ysgol Y Deri is a local authority day special school maintained by the Vale of Glamorgan local authority. Currently there are over 550 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years on 5 sites across the county. We employ around 450 staff.
All pupils have individual development plans (IDPs) for additional needs such as severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders and/or SEMH needs.
Ysgol Y Deri are interested in recruiting dynamic and energising teachers to join our amazing team of dedicated teachers.

We are looking for a number of excellent practitioners who are willing and able to turn their hand to working with our learners: someone able to transform challenging curriculum content into engaging and life affirming experiences; someone who recognises the importance of both high support and high challenge; someone who values the importance of early skill development and play and someone who understands the importance of pupil wellbeing being at the heart of education.

About the role
Pay Details: Teachers Main scale +SEN allowance
Hours of Work / Weeks per year / Working Pattern: Full Time (Monday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm)
Main Place of Work: Ysgol y Deri (site tbc)

This is an amazing opportunity for top-quality teachers who have the skills to adapt their teaching and who are prepared and excited to take on something completely different. The successful candidates will be given the support but also freedom to design an engaging curriculum.
Whilst a background in additional needs is not essential, a strong understanding of the curriculum, how it might be adapted and how it can be developed to enthuse all learners will be high on the list of requirements.
