An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a well-established and growing business based in Leeds on a part-time basis (2 days per week). Working closely alongside the Financial Controller and wider management team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function. This hands-on position is suited to an organised and proactive finance professional who enjoys supporting a busy SME environment. The role will focus on transactional finance, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and maintaining robust financial records to support business operations and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer invoicing and sales ledger management
- Credit control and debtor management
- Supplier invoice processing and purchase ledger management
- Preparing payment runs for approval
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Bank postings and reconciliations
- Expense processing and company card reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Supporting payroll and pension administration processes
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and financial data
- Processing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation
- Assisting the Financial Controller with month-end reporting activities
About You
You are an experienced Senior Bookkeeper with a strong background in SME businesses. You take pride in producing accurate financial records, have excellent attention to detail, and enjoy being part of a collaborative team. You are comfortable managing day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities independently while working closely with senior finance colleagues to support the wider business.
