This is a hands-on field service role with a well-established employer in the drives and power electronics space, based out of Leeds with travel across Yorkshire and the surrounding region. The focus is on ABB variable speed drives, so existing ABB experience is ideal, but if you have been servicing drives from Siemens, Schneider, Danfoss, or similar and fancy specialising, that is worth a conversation too.

You will be the go-to technical specialist, installing, commissioning, maintaining, and fault-finding across industrial and commercial sites. It is a role that suits someone who genuinely enjoys solving problems on-site, working directly with customers, and staying sharp on evolving drive technology.

Day to day, you will be out on customer sites installing and commissioning VSD inverters, carrying out planned maintenance, and diagnosing faults under pressure when things go wrong. You will also support customers remotely with programming, parameter setup, and performance optimisation. There is a documentation side too, including service reports, job records, and parts tracking, but the core of the role is technical, practical, and customer-facing.

The non-negotiables are a solid grounding in electrical engineering (degree or HNC/HND level), proven experience working with inverters or drives, and the ability to read schematics and methodically fault-find.
