Orkney Islands Council is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and qualified CLD professional to lead, develop and manage the Community Development Team within the Community Learning Development & Employability Service.
Contract: Full-time (35 hours per week). Permanent
Location: Kirkwall
Salary: £52,519 to £55,711 per year
This role will include the management, delivery, development and continuous improvement of Community Planning & Community Development across Orkney, with a clear focus on improving life chances for people of all ages, through learning, personal development and active citizenship and supporting stronger more resilient, supportive, influential and inclusive communities.
The post holder will be responsible for a diverse portfolio including the support and development of Community Planning, Community Schools, Community Associations, Third Sector support and service provision, Development Trust liaison, Firm Base and community consultation and engagement.
The role will involve partnership planning, data collection, monitoring and reporting, in accordance with statutory requirements and service policies and procedures, all with a focus on supporting the local community to thrive.
