This post will idenitfy and support young people gathering on the streets who maybe at risk from alcohol or drugs abuse and who maybe involved in crime or anti social behaviour. You will engage in a group work process, providing information and refering to partner agencies as appropriate.
- Contract: Part-time (7.5 hours per week)
- Location: Greenock
Mains duties and responsibilities
- Engage young people on the streets of Inverclyde, developing strategies to meets their needs.
- Help and support young people to gain the confidence, self esteem and knowledge to make positive life choices.
- Provide support to young people at risk from alcohol and drugs abuse and from commiting crime or anti social behaviour, sign posting them to support agencies to help address any issues raised.
- Work in colaboration with appropriate agencies and service providers to ensure that young peoples needs, as idenified, are met.
- Ensure that a system for monitoring and evaluation is established and that regular monitoring and evaluation takes place.
- Produce regular progress reports and attend monthly update meeting as appropriate.
- Meet with local organisations and groups to facilitate awareness of the projects aims and progress.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as directed by line management.
