For more than 20 years, YBUK has championed the cause of disadvantaged young people, partnering with employers and organisations in the construction and development industries, training providers and third sector bodies to share best practice. The organisation is dedicated to celebrating the success of young individuals through prestigious annual awards, recognising their achievements and contributions.
Role Description
This is a volunteer remote role for a Trustee for Youthbuild UK. The Trustee will be responsible for attending board meetings and events, participating in strategic decision-making, collaborating with other trustees, and providing guidance and oversight for the charity’s activities. The Trustee will contribute to the organisation’s mission by leveraging their expertise, network, and experience in relevant areas. The roles are unremunerated although expenses are paid. We want to strengthen our board of Trustees so that we have the right skills and connections to continue developing. We will also be looking to appoint a new chair at the end of 2025 from among our trustees.
Qualifications
- Experience with strategic planning, governance, and fiduciary responsibilities
- Understanding of the construction industry or other relevant sectors
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Commitment to youth development and social equality
- Previous board or trustee experience is an advantage
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, volunteer capacity
