Are you looking for a fun and varied job in hospitality? YHA Windermere are looking for a Hospitality Team Member to join their team! At YHA Windermere, we pride ourselves on teamwork and great customer service. We’re looking for a kind, reliable and hardworking person to join our team.

Alongside daily duties, we also run fundraising events (including our own fell race), host open mic and quiz nights, and take part in conservation work like tree planting. Based in the village of Troutbeck, near Windermere and Ambleside, the hostel has stunning views, good transport links, and sits within 9 acres of wildlife-rich woodland. It’s a peaceful setting with great access to local fells. Our medium-sized site offers both indoor accommodation and popular glamping options, including tipis, bell tents, land pods and Airstreams.

As a Hospitality Team Member, you'll play a key role in making our guests' experiences memorable. Your efforts will be at the core of our mission to provide exceptional hospitality.

What will you be doing as a Hospitality Team Member?

  • Providing great customer service to all our customers, members and guests.
  • Working on reception, offering insights about the hostel and the local area, ensuring every guest feels informed and welcomed.
  • Using our systems for efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, food and beverage sales and service.
  • Carrying out housekeeping duties, ensuring a comfortable, clean environment for all visitors.
  • Assisting in the preparation of food and serving food and drinks with genuine warmth, hospitality, and pride that will influence more sales.

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Hospitality Team Member?

  • Experience of working face to face with customers
  • Experience of working in a team – can help others to achieve a common goal
  • Excellent timekeeping, with flexibility to cover different shifts – punctual, can work to deadlines
  • Ability to manage varying pressures, include peaks in workload demands – can prioritise, able to deal with conflicting duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA – what YHA does and how we do it
