Hospitality and Learning Lead

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Hospitality Resources Team as a Hospitality and Learning Lead. As a Hospitality and Learning Lead, you will support learning, capability development and operational excellence across our hospitality teams. You will coordinate learning systems, pathways and content, helping to ensure colleagues and volunteers have access to effective learning solutions that meet operational needs. You'll also support key hospitality systems, including Mapal and Trail, resolving system queries, maintaining accurate data and helping to deliver a positive and seamless experience for colleagues across the organisation.

What will you be doing as a Hospitality and Learning Lead?

Working with the Hospitality Resources Team you will:

  • Support the design and delivery of engaging learning content, structured pathways and onboarding programmes, including Welcome to YHA
  • Maintain and administer learning systems (e.g. Mapal), ensuring accurate allocations, smooth delivery and a positive user experience
  • Assist with the rollout of learning initiatives, system updates and new projects across the network to ensure effective adoption
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, using data and feedback to increase efficiency and enhance user experience
  • Manage learning requests, support responses and escalate where required
  • Coordinate external training (e.g. First Aid, safeguarding), including sourcing providers, booking sessions in line with business needs
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and work with internal teams and external providers to resolve problems quickly
  • Collaborate with central and operational teams to ensure learning solutions, systems and processes meet business needs and drive engagement

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Hospitality and Learning Lead?

To work as part of the Hospitality Resources Team we are looking for candidates with the following qualities:

  • Experience in using and supporting learning or operational systems (e.g. LMS platforms)
  • Good understanding of system configuration, content management and process optimisation
  • Experience in designing learning content
  • Ability to analyse data and highlight trends or issues
  • Highly organised, self‑motivated and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong IT skills and confidence working across systems and data
  • Experience in supporting process improvements
  • Knowledge of YHA (desirable)
  • Ability to demonstrate confidentiality and understanding in dealing with sensitive situations and information
  • Self‑motivated and highly organised, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Consistently high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
