Responsible to: Director of Fundraising & Communications

Salary Scale: £32,555 – 36,971 per annum

Location: A mixture of home working and travel across Youth Fed delivery areas including a project based in Macclesfield.

Contract type: Permanent

Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of a new youth space from concept through to opening and long-term sustainability. The postholder will support fundraising activity for both the initial capital element and future operational delivery of the project, while also acting as a central coordinator across stakeholders, volunteers, and project partners. This is a highly relationship-focused role requiring confidence and professionalism when engaging with high-net-worth individuals, businesses, funders, trustees, and community stakeholders. The successful candidate must be comfortable presenting to groups, facilitating meetings, and representing the project at events and engagement opportunities. The role will also provide administrative and secretariat support to the project, ensuring meetings, actions, communications, and fundraising activity are effectively coordinated and managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of fundraising activity for the youth space capital development and ongoing operational sustainability
  • Research, prepare, and submit high-quality funding applications and pitches to trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies
  • Build positive relationships with high-net-worth individuals, donors, businesses, funders, and community stakeholders
  • Represent the project at meetings, events, and networking opportunities, confidently presenting information to a range of audiences
  • Financial responsibility for managing expenditure and significantly contribute to achieving set fundraising targets
  • Manage and support volunteer fundraisers and co-ordinate stakeholder groups
  • Organise and attend fundraising and engagement events
  • Maintain a strong understanding of project progress and keep stakeholders informed and engaged
  • Facilitate meetings and pitches, track actions and manage a pipeline of opportunities
  • Maintain accurate fundraising, stakeholder, and project records
  • Ensure fundraising activity is conducted appropriately and in line with organisational expectations, charity law and good practice

Person Specification

  • Experience in fundraising, bid writing, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, or partnership working
  • Experience preparing funding applications, proposals, or donor communications
  • Confidence in communicating with senior stakeholders, presenting to groups and skilled at selling ideas and gaining commitment
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Experience coordinating meetings, minutes, actions and a funding pipeline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • Experience within the charity, youth, or community sector
  • Experience coordinating events or volunteer groups
