TheYouth Engagement Schools Trust is looking for an experienced and visionary Mathsspecialist for a trust-wide leadership role that combines curriculumdesign, quality assurance, and strategic influence. AsTrust Maths Lead, you will bring these values to life through your leadershipof Maths across our family of schools.
Thisis a trust-wide leadership post, responsible for:
- Designing and leading ahigh-quality, inclusive Maths curriculum across key stages.
- Conducting deep dives,work scrutiny, and lesson visits in preparation for Ofsted inspections.
- Delivering bespoke CPD andcoaching to support excellence in teaching and learning.
- Monitoring performancedata and pupil outcomes to inform strategy and improvement.
- Acting as a key figure inthe new School Improvement Team, working to the trust’s Director ofEducation
We’relooking for a credible, passionate and reflective subject expert who canlead both strategically and operationally. You will:
- Be an outstanding Mathsteacher with a deep understanding of curriculum, assessment and pedagogy.
- Have experience raisingstandards through quality assurance and middle or senior leadership.
- Be confident ininterpreting the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and leading schoolreadiness work.
- Be highly skilled in CPDdesign, delivery and staff coaching.

To lead thestrategic development, delivery, and continual improvement of the Mathscurriculum across The YES Trust. The postholder will ensure high-qualityteaching, curriculum innovation, and compliance with national expectations,including deep engagement with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework. Theywill also lead the delivery of CPD, monitor quality, and provide expert supportto improve educational outcomes in Maths.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design andcontinual improvement of the Math’s curriculum from KS2 through to KS4 for YESConnected.
- Facilitate curriculummapping, moderation, and cross-trust alignment.
- Lead deep dives into theMaths provision across the Trust in line with the Ofsted Education InspectionFramework.
- Review lessondelivery, pupil work, and feedback to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Support schools inpreparing for Ofsted with evidence-based reviews and coaching.
- Model exemplary Mathsteaching and Team Teach where needed.
- Promoteevidence-informed pedagogical approaches aligned with the Trust’s teachingmethodology.
- Grow the trust’scapacity for specialist outstanding practitioners
- Support in theteaching and/or delivery of online lessons for YES Connected.
- Support in theteaching of Maths in trust schools as required.
- Ensure assessmentpractices support pupil progress.
- Design and deliver aCPD programme in Maths for Trust staff.
- Lead INSET days,twilights, and ongoing coaching/mentoring.
- Support ECTs andaspiring leaders with development opportunities.
- Analyse data toidentify trends and support schools in raising attainment.
- Use data to informTrust-wide Maths improvement planning.
- Report regularly tothe Director of Education on initiative impact.
- Provide the Directorof Education with summary reports for the schools’ Education Review Boardmeeting and attend as required.
- Being jointlyaccountable for attainment in Maths in trust schools and YES Connected.
- Develop and Lead onthe Maths Curriculum Network group across the trust.
- Work collaborativelywith ECTs, Maths leads, SEND leads, and SLT.
- Contribute toTrust-wide and school development planning.
- Complywith policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety andsecurity, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to anappropriate person.
- Beaware of and comply with all Trust policies and procedures.
- Contributeto the overall ethos and aims of the Trust.
- Appreciateand support the role of other professionals.
- Attendand participate in relevant meetings, training and learning activities asrequired.
