The Dispatch/Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the dispatch of goods, managing daily logistics operations, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products. This role involves working closely with drivers, suppliers, and clients to maintain efficient scheduling, tracking, and execution of deliveries, as well as handling any operational issues that may arise., Dispatch Coordination:
Schedule and dispatch drivers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Monitor the progress of deliveries and resolve any delays or issues in real-time.
Optimize routing and scheduling for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Logistics Operations:
Coordinate daily transportation activities, including order processing, scheduling, and delivery tracking.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery status, and completed jobs.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Communication & Customer Service:
Serve as the point of contact between drivers, clients, and internal teams.
Address and resolve any delivery or service-related concerns or inquiries from clients.
Provide real-time updates to clients regarding the status of their shipments.
Inventory & Equipment Management:
Monitor and manage fleet maintenance and fuel usage to ensure optimal operation.
Oversee inventory of supplies, ensuring that vehicles and drivers are equipped with necessary materials.
Coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules for vehicles and equipment.
Operational Reporting:
Prepare and maintain operational reports such as delivery times, driver performance, and route efficiency.
Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with warehouse staff, operations team, and management to streamline processes.
Assist in training and onboarding new drivers and team members as needed.
Proven experience in dispatch, logistics, or operations coordination.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in using dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
Ability to problem-solve and think quickly in critical situations.
Preferred:
Experience in the transportation, logistics, or freight industry.
Familiarity with route optimization software and GPS tracking systems.
Previous experience in team supervision or leadership roles.
