Chef Manager – Weekday daytime only
WHAT IS THE ROLE:
As a growing, privately owned entrepreneurial business with a real family feel, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the provision and execution of a brand new, high quality, modern and exciting catering provision.
Hours;
- Working Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm and having weekends and bank holidays to yourself will provide a great role for the right person.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chef Manager with a big personality and a passion for producing food with the finest and freshest ingredients to be a true part of the business. We want an experienced professional who can manage a small team to provide full breakfast, main meals, salads, jackets and hot and cold sandwiches in a subsidised workplace site within a thriving fashion head office.
The role will involve setting up the service provision in a modern, purpose-built kitchen with all of the equipment required to realise your vision. You will be involved in all pre-opening recruitment and training of your team, menu development and implementing of all systems and procedures for the kitchen and service.
You will have total accountability to set up a fantastic employee benefit for our 200+ Head Office team with takeaway provision to our warehouse teams too.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Recruit, train & manage a small team to provide weekday fresh breakfast, lunch, coffee and snack service
- Plan the equipment, suppliers and supplies required to run the kitchen and service areas.
- Plan, cost and source a varied, high-quality menu in an environment that you have created that engages and motivates your customers
- Create changing meals and options that provide a balanced and inclusive menu that is thoughtfully costed to cover the cost of ingredients only with no profit targets, providing high quality food for our teams to see as a real benefit.
- Responsible for ensuring all compliance with food safety regulations, allergen control, Health & Safety, quality control and COSHH
- Lead, manage, motivate and develop the kitchen team whilst keep cost control within agreed budgets
- Order and control stock, liaising with suppliers and deliveries to maintain the kitchen and vending machines
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
- Accomplished chef manager with demonstrable experience in a similar role
- A can-do attitude with a hands on approach
- Excellent culinary skill
- Experience of planning & executing your own service
- Good financial understanding with keen cost control on ingredients with a waste reduction ethos
- Skilled in catering on a large scale whilst making customers feel that their meal has been individually prepared for them
- Excellent customer service, ensuring the customer is at the heart of what you deliver
- Up to date knowledge of food and service trends that engages and delights your customers
- Understanding of relevant legislation & compliance
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
