Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys being the person managers turn to when they need practical, straightforward advice? We are recruiting for a People & Organisational Development Officer to join a busy organisation where you will play an important role in supporting managers, colleagues and the wider employee experience. This is a true generalist HR role. A key part of the role will be managing and supporting formal and informal ER cases, including sickness absence, capability, disciplinary and grievance matters, taking cases through to hearing stages where required. You will work closely with managers throughout the process, helping them navigate what can sometimes be challenging situations fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation. Alongside ER, you will have involvement across the wider HR function, including:
- Supporting managers throughout the employee lifecycle
- Advising on HR policies, procedures and best practice
- Delivering training and guidance to managers around key people policies
- Supporting recruitment campaigns and onboarding
- Assisting with payroll and pension administration
- Producing people data, reports and monthly HR KPIs
- Supporting HR projects, policy updates and continuous improvement
- Supervising a People & Organisational Development Assistant
- Deputising for the Head of People & Organisational Development when required
We are looking for someone with solid generalist HR experience and a genuine strength in Employee Relations. A Level 5 CIPD qualification would be ideal, although candidates who can demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge and experience will absolutely be considered. You will need to be confident dealing with managers, comfortable working autonomously and able to give clear, sensible advice when faced with complex or sensitive people matters. Strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to manage cases through to completion are essential. Experience of working with HR systems and analysing people data is also important. Experience within a contact centre, call centre or shift-based environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Package:
- Hybrid β 3 days office / 2 days from home
- Β£33,000 β Β£35,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
