Make a real difference to students every day!

Are you a confident, approachable and people-focused individual who enjoys working with young people and helping them make positive choices?

We’re looking for a Campus Officer to join a busy college environment, where you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and positive experience for students across the campus.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.

You’ll be a visible and approachable presence around the college, building positive relationships with students and staff, supporting attendance and engagement, and helping to maintain a calm and inclusive environment.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be out and about across the campus, engaging with students and supporting them to make positive choices. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Building positive relationships with students and encouraging good attendance, engagement and behaviour.
  • Monitoring the campus, including communal areas, entrances and social spaces.
  • Encouraging students who are out of class to return to lessons or access appropriate support.
  • Working closely with the Safeguarding, Wellbeing, Mentoring and Inclusion teams to identify and support students who may need additional help.
  • Responding calmly and professionally to incidents, using appropriate de-escalation techniques where required.
  • Signposting students towards enrichment, participation and wider college activities.
  • Recording attendance concerns, incidents and safeguarding information accurately and confidentially.
  • Supporting college events, enrolment activities and open evenings.
  • Working alongside staff, parents/carers and external organisations where appropriate.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, resilient and confident communicating with young people, with the ability to build trust while also setting clear boundaries.

You’ll ideally have

  • Experience working with young people and/or adults.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential.
  • Experience of managing challenging situations and resolving conflict calmly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of confidentiality.
  • The ability to work as part of a team while also using your own initiative.
  • Good organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A proactive, flexible and professional approach.
