An established and expanding law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its busy Private Client department. The firm offers a friendly, professional, and supportive environment and is looking for a like-minded individual who is keen to develop their experience across a broad range of Private Client services. Newly Qualified Solicitors will also be considered, provided they have a minimum of 2 years' dedicated Private Client experience.
The Role
The Paralegal will support fee earners in delivering high-quality legal advice and services across Private Client matters, including Wills, Probate, Estate Planning, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney. The role requires a strong focus on client care, attention to detail, and collaboration with colleagues to ensure excellent service standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the drafting and updating of Wills.
- Preparing and advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) and Deputyship applications.
- Supporting the administration of Estates.
- Assisting with the setup and administration of Trusts.
- Maintaining accurate case files, managing deadlines, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Liaising with clients in person, by telephone, and virtually, keeping them informed throughout their matter.
- Supporting business development activities and building strong client relationships.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across other departments when required.
About you
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Paralegal within a Private Client department (Newly Qualified Solicitors considered with relevant experience).
- Strong technical knowledge of Wills, Probate, Trusts, LPAs, Estate Administration, and related legislation.
- Experience with legal drafting and managing multiple files to deadlines.
- Excellent client care skills, with a friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
- Able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Confident IT skills, including experience using case management systems and adapting to new tools.
- Trustworthy with a high level of integrity and sensitivity when dealing with clients in emotional or complex situations.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage pressure while meeting client expectations.
- GCSEs in English and Maths; a Paralegal qualification is advantageous but not essential.
