Role Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operation of a children's residential home in Derby.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where children and young people are protected, safeguarded and supported to achieve positive outcomes.
The Registered Manager will provide strong leadership to the staff team, ensure high standards of care and compliance are maintained, and promote the physical, emotional and developmental needs of the children and young people living in the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management and operation of the home.
- Ensure the home operates in accordance with its Statement of Purpose and Function.
- Maintain high standards of care and work towards achieving and maintaining an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding.
- Provide effective supervision, support, leadership and direction to staff.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating integrity, optimism, compassion, resilience and determination.
- Ensure the physical and emotional needs of children and young people are protected, safeguarded and promoted at all times.
- Ensure care, education and risk management plans are implemented effectively and regularly reviewed.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and staff deployment are maintained in line with the individual needs and risk management plans of each child.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities effectively across the staff team.
- Monitor staff performance and identify opportunities for improvement and development.
- Manage day-to-day staffing, supervision and operational requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with children, young people, families, staff, professionals and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the home remains compliant with relevant legislation, regulations, safeguarding requirements and local authority procedures.
- Use internal auditing, monitoring and inspection frameworks to identify and implement areas for improvement.
