Job Purpose
To lead the Management Information Services (MIS) function, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely learner data across Further Education, Apprenticeships, Adult Skills and Higher Education. The role is responsible for funding compliance, data quality, reporting and audit readiness, supporting effective decision-making and maximising funding opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the MIS team.
- Ensure accurate and timely ILR submissions.
- Maintain compliance with DfE, ESFA, GLA, Surrey County Council and OfS funding requirements.
- Drive data quality, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Produce management information to support planning and performance.
- Lead funding audits and manage compliance risks.
- Develop effective data governance processes.
- Work closely with curriculum and support teams to ensure high-quality learner data.
What You Will Have
- Significant experience in MIS leadership within Further Education.
- Expert knowledge of ILR funding rules and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of FE funding, data quality standards and audit processes.
- Experience of managing funding compliance, reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience of leading and developing teams.
- Excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex funding rules and apply them operationally.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality data management.
Desirable:
- Degree or HND in Business, IT or a related discipline.
Essential:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Level 2 (or willingness to obtain).
