Finance Assistant - TEMP

Overview

We are currently recruiting a Temporary Finance Assistant on a part-time basis to support a successful and growing business based in Caterham. This is a great opportunity for someone with some finance experience who enjoys structured, routine work and wants to build on their accounting knowledge within a supportive environment.

Job Details

• Job Title: Finance Assistant – Temporary
• Salary: £14.00 to 15.00 per hour
• Location: Caterham
• Hours: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday (9am – 5pm or flexible)
• Start: ASAP – 4 to 6 weeks initially

Responsibilities

• Working as part of a small finance and administration team, support the day-to-day finance function; role is varied but well-structured with a focus on managing the shared finance inbox, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Manage the shared finance inbox and respond to routine queries.
• Process and update supplier invoices on the finance system.
• Raise customer invoices and ensure accurate records are maintained.
• Data entry and processing of transactions within Xero (or similar system).
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and customer/supplier statements.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams as required.
• General finance and administrative support, including filing and document preparation.
• Support ad-hoc finance and admin tasks as needed.

Skills & Experience

• Experience using Xero or another accounting/finance platform.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data.
• Confident written communication, particularly via email.
• Organised, reliable, and able to manage routine tasks consistently.
• A professional and discreet approach when handling financial information.
