About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a children’s residential home in Kent. This is an opportunity to join a home focused on creating stability, structure, and positive long-term outcomes for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help lead the team, maintain high standards of care, and create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and able to thrive. This role would suit someone ready to step further into leadership while remaining hands-on and child focused in their approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead and guide the residential team to deliver consistent, trauma-informed care
- Promote safeguarding and positive behaviour support throughout the home
- Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and placement planning
- Help maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards
- Support rota planning, staff supervision, and team development
- Build positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies
- Participate in the on-call rota as required
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience within a children’s residential setting
- Previous senior or leadership experience within residential care
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted expectations
- Calm, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Working towards Level 5 Leadership & Management
- Experience within trauma-informed or therapeutic care models
- Experience supporting children with EBD and complex needs
