We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join a Childrens Residential Home in South London supporting young people with complex needs and challenging backgrounds. This is a hands-on leadership role for somebody who can lead from the front, support a staff team under pressure and help create a home where children feel safe, supported and understood. This role would suit an experienced Deputy Manager or a Team Leader/strong Senior Support Worker who is ready to step into leadership.
The Role
You will work closely with the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, helping to maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance whilst building a positive and stable environment for both staff and young people. You will be the kind of person who is calm during difficult shifts, confident supporting staff, able to manage safeguarding concerns appropriately and understands that consistency changes lives in residential childcare.
Duties will include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager in the overall operation of the home
- Leading shifts and deputising in the Managers absence
- Supporting, mentoring and supervising staff
