A welcoming and supportive children’s residential home in SE6 is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Residential Support Worker to join its dedicated team. This is a hands-on and rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them feel safe, valued and supported every day. No two days are ever the same from helping with daily routines and activities to celebrating achievements and building positive relationships, this role is all about making a lasting impact.

The Role

The Residential Support Worker will play an important part in creating a caring, safe and homely environment where young people can grow, develop and thrive. Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting young people with daily routines, life skills and personal care where required.
  • Organising fun recreational and leisure activities both inside and outside the home.
  • Supporting attendance at education settings and providing transport when needed.
  • Acting as a keyworker for individual young people, helping to support care plans and reviews.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people, families and professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate records and handover notes.
  • Administering medication when trained and authorised.
  • Supporting a positive home environment through cooking, household tasks and health & safety checks.
  • Working in line with safeguarding procedures, policies and legislation at all times.
