As a Careers and Advice Senior Lead, you'll work in a dynamic environment, using your experience in educational settings, employability expertise, and ability to inspire students to thrive.
Position Details:
- Salary: £40,000 - £43,500 DOE
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:45 am – 5 pm
- Locations: Croydon & Redhill
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership - Lead the Careers & Placements team, providing strategic oversight and ensuring excellent student support.
- Enrich the Curriculum - Develop and enhance the tutorial curriculum to meet Gatsby benchmarks and support student outcomes.
- Student Development - Prepare students for placements with skills sessions, career tracking, and targeted enrichment activities.
- Employer Engagement - Expand the College's network of employer partners, creating a pipeline of placement opportunities.
- Effective Record Management - Maintain accurate records of placements, ensuring efficient tracking and reporting.
- Safety First - Ensure all health and safety standards are met, including thorough risk assessments and parental consents.
- Stay Informed - Keep up to date with career guidance legislation, sharing relevant insights with internal stakeholders.
- Drive Quality Placements - Manage the student placement journey from start to finish, ensuring it meets quality standards.
- Strengthen College Partnerships - Actively promote the College to employers, schools, and the community to strengthen partnerships.
- Support Strategy - Collaborate with senior leaders to meet Gatsby benchmarks and deliver on Careers Strategy goals.
Are You the Right Fit?
- Management Experience in education or a related field.
- Diploma in Careers and Guidance.
- GCSE or Level 2 Equivalent in Maths & English.
- Strong Communication Skills with the ability to inspire and engage.
- Proficient IT Skills with experience in SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to Safeguarding (Level 2) and Equality & Diversity (Level 2) training or willingness to complete.
- A minimum of a Diploma in Careers Guidance or relevant specialist careers qualification at Level 6 would be highly desirable – level 4 would be considered.
- Knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks and career-related regulations.
