About the Role
Our client is a specialist childrens residential care provider offering high-quality, trauma-informed care and support to children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural and additional needs. They are looking for a compassionate, resilient and reliable Residential Support Worker to join a brand-new childrens residential home in Cheltenham. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about residential childcare and wants to make a positive difference to the lives of young people, helping them feel safe, supported and able to develop independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with children and young people.
- Provide day-to-day care, support and supervision within a childrens residential setting.
- Support young people with routines, education, activities, appointments and life skills.
- Act as a positive role model and promote independence, confidence and emotional development.
- Provide trauma-informed care and use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.
- Support young people who may display challenging behaviour or have complex emotional and behavioural needs.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection.
- Complete accurate daily records, incident reports and other relevant documentation.
- Work closely with colleagues, managers, social workers and other professionals involved in the young persons care.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and supportive environment at all times.
