Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Greenwich, London
Salary: £15.50 – £16.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week, or as required
Reports to: Registered Manager
The Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join their children's residential home in Greenwich.
You will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, while providing high-quality, child-centred care and support to children and young people.
The role includes:
- Leading shifts and supporting the smooth running of the home.
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Providing care and support in line with individual care plans.
- Supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive behaviour support.
- Supervising, mentoring and supporting Residential Support Workers.
- Contributing to key working, risk assessments and care planning.
- Working with families, social workers, education providers and other professionals.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and care documentation.
- Supporting medication management, health and safety and the maintenance of a safe, welcoming home.
- Supporting the Registered Manager and providing leadership when required.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People's Services or equivalent.
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally within residential childcare.
- Experience supporting emotional and behavioural needs and managing behaviours that may challenge.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff is desirable.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and children's care regulations.
