Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Derby | £40,000–£43,500 | Monday – Sunday/shift basis
Are you an experienced Deputy Manager or Senior in children’s residential care looking for your next step?
We’re recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a children’s residential home, ensuring young people receive safe, nurturing and child-centred care.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the overall running of the home
- Leading, supporting and developing the staff team
- Promoting high standards of safeguarding and care
- Monitoring care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans
- Supporting Ofsted, Regulation 44 & 45 requirements
- Maintaining compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 & Quality Standards
- Monitoring quality, records, incidents, medication and health & safety
- Working closely with social workers, local authorities, families, schools and other professionals
- Promoting positive outcomes, independence and wellbeing for children and young people
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in children’s residential care
- Experience as a Deputy Manager, Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or similar
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- Understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements
- Experience leading and supporting care staff
- Good communication, leadership and organisational skills
- A relevant Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children & Young People / Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards one
- A full UK driving licence may be desirable depending on the service
