The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
You’ll be responsible for the secure design, operation, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s IT infrastructure, spanning cloud, on-premise systems, networking, virtualisation, backups, and cyber security.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing Microsoft Azure and Entra ID environments
- Owning Microsoft 365 services including Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online
- Configuring and maintaining Intune for device management, security, compliance, and updates
- Implementing Microsoft security and compliance controls
- Managing Sophos firewalls (VPNs, routing, policies, traffic control)
- Supporting Cisco switching (VLANs, ports, subnetting, network segregation)
- Maintaining Dell PowerEdge and HP ProLiant server hardware
- Supporting Dell, HP, and QNAP storage, including offsite backups
- Administering VMware ESXi 8.0 across multiple hosts
- Building and maintaining Windows Server environments (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS, IIS, certificates)
- Patching, hardening, and troubleshooting Windows systems
- Supporting Linux servers including configuration, security, and patching
- Designing and maintaining Veeam backup and recovery solutions
- Managing SQL Server backup, maintenance, and redundancy
- Regularly testing disaster recovery processes
- Supporting ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and PCI compliance
- Carrying out vulnerability scanning and remediation
- Maintaining system security through patching, hardening, encryption, and certificate management
- Managing email security and filtering
What we’re looking for:
- Strong background across Microsoft cloud and on-prem infrastructure
- Advanced networking, firewall, and virtualisation knowledge
- Strong Windows Server and Active Directory experience
- Working knowledge of Linux server administration
- Solid understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and security best practices
- Confident, structured approach to troubleshooting
- Experience in regulated environments
- Relevant technical certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Security)
