Role Overview

The Nonprofit Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the marketing strategy for the nonprofit sector, a key vertical market for the company. This role plays a crucial part in expanding market presence within the nonprofit industry by leveraging sector-specific knowledge to drive awareness, demand, and engagement. Reporting directly to the CMO, this role collaborates with cross-functional teams to position the company as the preferred accounting software solution for nonprofit organisations.

The role requires an experienced marketer with a strong understanding of the nonprofit sector, including its challenges, key networks, and routes to market. The successful candidate will bring a blend of strategic insight and hands-on execution, as well as a commercial mindset to identify and leverage growth opportunities. While the position does not include direct reports, the ability to influence and lead cross-functional projects is essential.

Nonprofit Marketing Manager (B2B SaaS – Accounting Software) – Key Responsibilities

  • Sector-Specific Marketing Strategy: Develop and manage the marketing strategy for the nonprofit vertical, ensuring alignment with business objectives and revenue targets. Tailor marketing efforts to reflect the unique needs of nonprofit organisations.
  • Industry Expertise: Utilise in-depth knowledge of the nonprofit sector to engage with key stakeholders, industry networks, and events. Build strong relationships with sector experts to enhance market positioning.
  • Lead Generation & Nurturing: Work closely with the growth marketing and content teams to deliver targeted multi-channel lead nurturing campaigns. Support inbound and outbound sales initiatives to effectively engage nonprofit prospects at various sales funnel stages.
  • Event Marketing: Identify, plan, and oversee the company’s presence at key nonprofit industry events, including conferences, webinars, and exhibitions. Develop an event strategy that generates high-quality leads and increases brand visibility.
  • Content & Communications: Collaborate with content and communications teams to produce sector-specific collateral, such as whitepapers, case studies, and thought leadership pieces, addressing nonprofit sector challenges and trends.
  • Partnerships & Alliances: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with nonprofit associations and networks. Explore sponsorship and partnership opportunities to expand reach and credibility within the sector.
  • Performance Measurement: Utilise RevOps to track and measure the effectiveness of nonprofit marketing activities, providing actionable insights to refine strategies and improve results.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and influence cross-functional initiatives by working closely with teams in sales, customer success, and product to ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy for the nonprofit vertical.

Nonprofit Marketing Manager (B2B SaaS – Accounting Software) – Skills & Experience

  • Sector Expertise: At least 5 years of marketing experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on the nonprofit sector. Strong understanding of nonprofit organisations’ operational models, challenges, and purchasing behaviour.
