We are partnering with a well-established, multi-site UK business seeking an experienced Head of IT to take ownership of operational technology across the organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic input with day-to-day operational accountability. You will ensure a secure, resilient and high-performing technology environment across multiple locations, while working closely with senior leadership to support wider digital objectives.
As Head of IT, you will be responsible for the performance, stability and continuous improvement of the IT estate. You will oversee third-party providers, manage infrastructure and connectivity, and ensure that business-critical systems operate effectively in a 24/7 environment. This role requires someone who can balance operational excellence with forward-thinking technology planning.
Key Responsibilities- Act as primary owner and escalation point for Managed Service Providers and third-party vendors
- Ensure service levels are met and drive performance improvements where required
- Oversee network infrastructure including LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi across multiple sites
- Maintain robust business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Support and optimise key operational platforms (e.g. PMS, POS or other core systems)
- Manage IT operational expenditure, budgeting and forecasting
- Provide clear communication to senior stakeholders and non-technical teams
- Contribute to strategic technology planning and innovation initiatives
- 7+ years’ experience in IT management, ideally within hospitality, retail or other multi-site environments
- Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure and IT support operations
- Proven experience managing external service providers
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, always-on environment
- Able to translate technical concepts into clear business language
- Experience overseeing IT budgets and supplier contracts
