About the Role
We’re looking for a commercially driven and creative Marketing Manager to take full ownership of the marketing, events and placemaking strategy for a large retail destination, one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations. This is a unique and high-impact role responsible for driving footfall, enhancing customer experience and supporting retailer performance through engaging, insight-led marketing activity. You’ll be at the heart of shaping how the destination shows up locally from major seasonal campaigns to community partnerships and live events.

Key Responsibilities
- Translate central strategy into impactful, locally relevant campaigns, events and activations
- Full ownership of marketing and events plan, ensuring alignment with centre strategy and commercial goals
- Deliver seasonal events, retailer activations, brand partnerships and community moments that drive footfall and commercial performance
- Manage all digital channels, including social media and website content, ensuring accuracy and strong audience performance
- Build and maintain relationships with local media to enhance profile and reputation
- Collaborate closely with retailers to encourage participation, share insights and support performance
- Act as the local intelligence hub, monitoring customer behaviour, demographics, market trends and competitor activity
- Develop partnerships with local authorities, community organisations and cultural bodies
- Monitor customer behaviour, market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
- Own reporting and performance analysis, ensuring marketing activity delivers measurable ROI
- Manage the annual marketing budget effectively and responsibly
- Work alongside centre management, leasing and asset teams to support new openings and long-term asset growth

About You
- 5–10 years’ experience in marketing, ideally within retail, placemaking, events or consumer-facing environments
- Strong understanding of B2C marketing, customer behaviour and brand experience
- Commercially minded, with the ability to link marketing activity to business performance
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Data-driven, with experience in reporting and performance analysis
- Hands-on experience across digital and social channels
- Proactive problem-solver with a positive, can-do approach
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in marketing or communications
