Are you an organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant looking to develop your career within a growing and forward-thinking business? We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting operations including credit control, purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, expense processing and customer billing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance or accounts experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Finance Manager with day-to-day finance operations and monthly management accounts preparation
- Managing all aspects of credit control and debt collection
- Performing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Processing employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations
- Overseeing purchase ledger processes, including invoice matching and supplier statement reconciliation
- Resolving supplier invoice queries efficiently and professionally
- Raising and issuing customer invoices and automated billing
- Handling customer account queries and finance-related enquiries
- Maintaining accurate financial records, CRM systems and databases
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and finance process enhancements
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, financial controls and information security procedures
- Providing additional finance and administrative support as required
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator or similar finance role
- Experience with credit control, sales ledger and purchase ledger activities
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using CRM systems
- Sage 50 Accounts experience would be advantageous
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
