- Role Purpose
The Specialist Category Manager (Imaging Network) will lead, manage, and execute complex, high-value procurement strategies specifically tailored to the Imaging Network.
Sitting within the Procurement Department, this role is accountable for driving strategic sourcing methodologies, achieving value for money, and delivering high-quality commercial outcomes while strictly adhering to public sector procurement regulations and NHS Terms and Conditions of Supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Category Management: Lead and implement comprehensive category strategies for high-value, complex health procurements across the Imaging Network.
- Strategic Sourcing: Apply end-to-end strategic sourcing methodologies to optimize supplier performance, streamline delivery, and maximize efficiency.
- Public Sector Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with current public sector procurement legislation, regulatory frameworks, and organizational governance.
- Contract & Supplier
Management: Manage complex commercial relationships and contracts using the NHS Terms and Conditions of Supply, ensuring robust risk management and service level performance.
- Stakeholder
Engagement: Collaborate with senior clinical, operational, and network stakeholders to understand technical imaging requirements and translate them into effective commercial solutions.
Person Specification: Experience & Knowledge
- Category Expertise: Significant, demonstrable experience in a Category Management role.
- Public Sector Knowledge: Expert understanding of the technical, regulatory, and legal requirements of public sector procurement.
- Healthcare Procurement Experience: Proven track record of direct accountability for delivering complex, high-value health/medical procurements.
- Sourcing Methodologies: In-depth knowledge and practical application of strategic sourcing principles and frameworks.
- NHS Terms & Conditions: Practical experience working with and applying NHS Terms and Conditions of Supply in commercial agreements.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and senior stakeholder management skills.
