About the Role
We are recruiting for an exciting Pharmacy Manager opportunity in Brighton, joining an established community pharmacy that will be under new ownership from December 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, commercially minded pharmacist who wants to play a key role in the growth and development of the pharmacy, working closely with the new owners to shape the future direction of the business.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the pharmacy while identifying opportunities to develop NHS and private clinical services, increase revenue and improve profitability.
The business also has plans to explore online pharmacy services, AI and new technology, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys innovation and wants to help build a modern, forward-thinking pharmacy.
Alongside a competitive salary of £55,000–£65,000, there is an opportunity to earn up to an additional £10,000 in performance-based bonuses, rewarding the successful candidate for helping the business achieve its growth and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the pharmacy.
- Lead, motivate and develop the existing pharmacy team.
- Maintain high standards of patient care and service delivery.
- Develop and grow NHS and private clinical services.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
- Work towards commercial and operational KPIs, driving business performance.
- Collaborate closely with the new owners on business development and future strategy.
- Identify, introduce and develop new services and commercial opportunities.
- Explore opportunities involving online pharmacy services, AI and technology.
- Maintain strong pharmacy governance, compliance and adherence to GPhC requirements.
- Support the continued growth of the pharmacy and the wider business.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:
- Current GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
- Strong UK community pharmacy experience.
- Previous pharmacy management or leadership experience, or the ability to step confidently into a management position.
- The ability to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy community pharmacy.
- A good understanding of NHS and private clinical services.
- A commercially minded approach, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth.
- The ability to set, monitor and work towards KPIs and business objectives.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop an existing team.
- A sound understanding of pharmacy governance, compliance and GPhC requirements.
- Ambition to progress into a broader operational or senior leadership role as the business grows.
An Independent Prescriber qualification is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
We are particularly interested in pharmacists who combine strong clinical and operational skills with a genuine interest in business development and improving pharmacy performance.
Salary, Bonus and Benefits
- Up to £10,000 in additional performance-based bonuses.
- Monday to Friday working pattern, 37.5 hours per week.
- Permanent position with an established community pharmacy under new ownership.
- The opportunity to influence business strategy and shape the future of the pharmacy.
- Scope to develop NHS and private clinical services.
- The opportunity to explore online services, AI and new pharmacy technology.
- Long-term career development with potential salary increases and further rewards linked to performance.
- Potential progression into a Regional Manager role, overseeing multiple pharmacies within the wider group.
This is more than a traditional Pharmacy Manager position. It is an opportunity to join a business at an important stage of its development and work directly with the new owners to help deliver their vision.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the pharmacy's performance and future growth, with up to £10,000 in additional bonuses available for achieving agreed objectives.
