The predicted salary is between 25 - 33 £ per hour.

We are looking for a Pharmacist with Independent Prescribing Qualifications to join our clinical team. You will be joining a team of Pharmacist Independent Prescribers, a specialist nurse and a consultant endocrinologist, overseen by our Clinical Lead. You will primarily be working with our internal team – including technicians, dispensers, healthcare assistants, and pharmacists – but will also collaborate widely with external partners. You’ll be actively involved in our Weight Management & Obesity service, which includes the prescribing of Semaglutide (Wegovy) and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro), and you’ll work alongside allied healthcare professionals such as dietitians, psychologists, and health coaches. This is an exciting opportunity to work across some of the most innovative and cutting-edge services available in the UK, whilst gaining valuable experience in a multidisciplinary, patient-centred environment, including as part of an NHS Tier 3 specialist weight management service.

Prerequisites

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Qualification as an Independent Prescriber.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber.
  • Minimum 1 year experience prescribing Semaglutide (Wegovy) and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) for weight management and obesity.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Level 3 Safeguarding qualification.
  • Indemnity insurance.
  • 2+ years of experience working in GP/primary care settings and remote/online services is preferred.

Candidates who do not have this are still encouraged to apply, especially if you have significant experience prescribing medications for weight management.

  • Location: In-person in Preston, PR5 8AR (hybrid remote working possible after the probation period)

  • Rate of Pay: £25–33 per hour (dependent on experience)

This role is full-time, on-site initially, with the option for a hybrid working arrangement after the probation period. During your onboarding, we’ll work together to agree on a schedule that suits both your needs and those of the business.
