As an ER Advisor within the sickness support team, you will provide expert advice and case management support to managers dealing with sickness absence across a large, unionised NHS Trust. This role is ideal for someone with solid ER experience who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is comfortable working across various locations.

Location: Croydon (4 days on site 1 day WFH)

Job Type: Temporary

Duration of booking: Expected to last 4 months with possible extension

Proposed start date: ASAP

Pay Rates: Up to £20.16 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay

Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a personal caseload of sickness absence cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Coach and support line managers in applying absence management policies and processes.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health and HR colleagues to coordinate return-to-work plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all ER activities.
  • Participate in site visits and community work to support managers in different operational areas.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience handling sickness-related ER cases.
  • Familiarity with unionised environments and NHS or large public sector organisations.
  • Confident in coaching and advising managers.
  • Willing and able to work on-site (hospital and community) at least 4 days per week.
  • Organised, empathetic, and resilient under pressure.
