Pay Rates: Up to £24.23 per hour Umbrella or £21.40 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)

Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Main Purpose of Role: The Estates Officer will support the Head of Estates in delivering Building Services (Mechanical & Electrical) operational maintenance across the estate. The role ensures compliance with legislative and regulatory standards and supports the efficient and effective functioning of Estates operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor maintenance contracts and contractors to maintain a safe, functional estate.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and procurement regulations.
  • Assist in the delivery of minor and major works, planned / reactive maintenance, and refurbishment projects.
  • Support the preparation of business cases, tenders, and quotations within regulatory frameworks.
  • Undertake condition surveys and manage estates-related databases (e.g. CAFM systems).
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality estates and facilities services.
  • Promote energy efficiency and contribute to sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist with strategy planning and performance monitoring against KPIs.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree or HND in a relevant discipline (e.g., Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management), or minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a facilities / estates role within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in at least two of the following: Building, Surveying and Maintenance; Mechanical Engineering Services; Electrical Engineering Services.
  • Contract management experience, strong organisational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport.

Desirable Criteria:

  • NEBOSH or equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
  • Prior experience in the public sector or healthcare estate management.
  • Proficiency in CAFM systems and CAD architectural drawing software.
