Hours / Working Days: 36.5 hours per week (average across the month) 2-5 shifts a week across Monday to Sunday:
- AM: 0800 – 20:30
- PM: 12:30-20:30
- Nights: 20:00 – 08:30

Main duties of the job:
- Comprehensive plumbing maintenance and repair expertise, including installation, reactive repairs, and planned preventative maintenance of water systems, pipework, sanitary fixtures, and associated equipment.
- Experience with complex mechanical services, such as hot and cold water systems, heating systems, pumps, compressors, and calorifiers, ensuring compliance with safety and water quality standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and carry out installation, commissioning, and testing of plumbing and mechanical systems accurately.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including safe systems of work, permits, and hazard management when working in live healthcare environments.
- Participation in emergency response and out of hours on-call duties, providing rapid and effective repairs in urgent and potentially hazardous situations.
- Proficiency in fault diagnosis and repairs on complex plant and equipment, including water safety systems, Legionella control, and mechanical plant.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and external agencies to ensure efficient and compliant maintenance operations.
Person specification:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification required.
- Experience in NHS and Healthcare Environment.

- Ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.
- L8 Control of Legionella.
