The predicted salary is between 20 - 20 Β£ per hour.

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will deliver a first-class day-to-day service to the Trust in a timely, practical, and professional manner, championing best practice in all employee relations processes and ensuring a positive internal and external reputation for the Trust.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Guiding and advising on the full employee relations remit, including disciplinary, grievance, restructures and reorganisations, sickness absence management, performance management, and employee wellbeing in accordance with Trust values and policies.
  • Developing effective and credible working relationships with the Divisions and across the Trust to positively influence staff experience and patient experience.
  • Managing a caseload of disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues, advising managers and panels at investigation, hearing, and appeal stages.
  • Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures and best practice, including working with the Head of Employee Relations in the management of Tribunal cases.
  • Developing and reviewing HR policies, ensuring that correct information and details are provided in terms of legislation and processes.
  • Identifying early interventions in cases that promote a constructive working environment, reducing conflict and case escalation.
  • Participating in projects at organisation, division, or departmental level, including re-organisations and restructures as delegated.
  • Monitoring sickness absence within divisions and working with managers, staff, and Occupational Health to maintain low sickness absence levels.
  • Participating in Job Matching panels and the job matching process.
  • Maintaining expertise in employment law and best HR practice to provide accurate advice to managers and staff.
  • Contributing to the effective communication of HR-related information by reporting on human resources issues.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships and a partnership approach to employee relations with staff and trade union colleagues.
  • Delivering appropriate HR training courses and sharing learning and good practice with colleagues across the OD & People Division.
  • Maintaining patient safety through compliance with Trust policies for the prevention and control of infection.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in compliance with Trust responsibilities.
  • Respecting and valuing the diversity of patients, their relatives, carers, and staff.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • CIPD Qualified to level 5 or working towards this qualification and a member of the CIPD.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Previous employee relations experience of successfully managing complex cases.
  • Experience of interpreting and advising on terms and conditions, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching managers on HR aspects of their roles.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, implement, and meet targets in a complex environment.
  • Ability to understand, analyse, and manipulate HR data and present it in a report format.
  • Presentation and facilitation skills.
  • IT skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
