The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for providing continuous medical care to inpatients, supporting consultants and clinical teams, and ensuring high standards of patient safety and clinical governance. The RMO will manage patient assessments, respond to medical emergencies, and coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

Pay Rates: between £50 to £100 per hour depending on experience.

Hours / Working Days: Rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays. + On-call responsibilities as per departmental schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care and clinical support to admitted patients across assigned departments.
  • Perform initial patient assessments, history taking, physical examinations, and clinical evaluations.
  • Monitor patient progress and promptly identify clinical deterioration.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and participate in resuscitation procedures.
  • Implement treatment plans as directed by consultants and senior physicians.
  • Prescribe medications and investigations in accordance with hospital policies and clinical guidelines.
  • Conduct ward rounds independently and alongside consultants when required.

Patient Care

  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and emergency management skills.
