Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Programme Director (Estates Capital) is responsible for the delivery of the major works capital programme within the Estates and Facilities Directorate for Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. The role reports directly to the Director of Estates and Facilities and involves providing advice and exploring developmental opportunities for all land, property, and estate capital matters.
This is a senior leadership role within the function and requires experience of managing a big team and budgets of several millions.
The capital available can vary widely and has been significantly higher. The programme needs to be delivered with precision and at pace. The post holder will be responsible for delivering the CHS 7-year capital development plan designed to address the £279m backlog maintenance. Alongside this the post holder will be responsible for delivering nationally driven schemes for the Croydon Place estate, this will include supporting the delivery of nationally funded schemes for service developments, innovation and sustainability.

Duties:
- Manage Trust Estate Capital Programme and have budget responsibility for the annual plan.
- Have budget management responsibility for the Estates Capital Programme and be accountable to Director of Estates and Facilities.
- Provide Management and leadership as well as leading on the development of capital strategies and policies for the directorate.
- Accountable for the procurement of the services of professional teams to facilitate all aspects of the estates capital programme and meet the Trust’s SFI’s.
- Work closely with internal colleagues, stakeholders and external partners to ensure that all Estate implications are considered, as part of any capital works.
- Provide excellent delivery that supports corporate community developments.
