Job Overview

Leading the Financial Accounts and Income team, with additional responsibilities covering the Assistant Director of Finance role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet, including payroll, payments, receivables, and SBS transactions.
  • Oversee monthly financial close processes, board reporting, NHSE submissions, and year-end accounts.
  • Resolve payroll issues.
  • Complete the Charity review currently conducted by Trust auditors (Azets).
  • Provide daily oversight of outsourced Operational Financial Services to NHS SBS, including:
  • Supplier setup and payments.
  • Transactional procurement (Requisitions and Purchase Orders).
  • Payroll and treasury management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including Month and Year-end accounts, Charity Accounting, and VAT Returns.
  • Support Trust-wide financial planning for the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
  • Maintain the integrity of the financial reporting system to ensure accurate representation of the Trust’s financial position.
  • Manage debt collection processes, including salary overpayment recoveries.
  • Deliver budget holder training on Financial Management topics such as Cash Management, Debtors, and Capital Expenditure.
  • Conduct financial reconciliations and provide financial information, including guidance on technical areas like VAT, capital, and lease accounting.

Qualifications

  • Financial Qualification with an Accountancy Body – minimum Part Qualified
  • Evidence of compliance with institute CPD requirements
  • Honours degree or equivalent level of qualification and/or equivalent experience
