What will my role be as a Café Assistant? The purpose of the job is to provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of Your Trust. This includes using your excellent customer service skills to be the face of our catering operations at Heywood Civic and other sites as required by providing an effective service such as serving food and drink, advising customers, taking payments, preparing and clearing and cleaning the café’s area and counters, restocking shelves and fridges and clearing and cleaning tables.
What do I need to have?
- Qualified to Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or demonstrate commitment and ability to achieve within 3-6 months
- Previous experience of catering work
- Hold Emergency First Aid or demonstrate commitment and ability to achieve within 3-6 months
- Previous experience of working within a customer facing role
- Friendly, outgoing person who likes to work with different customers
- Ability to develop positive relationships with stakeholders, partners and members of the public
- Ability to follow laid down procedures, work under pressure and without constant supervision
- Knowledge of computerised tills
- Ability to use own initiative and think commercially to support the development of the service
- Awareness of food allergens including training on Natasha’s Law, PPDS labelling requirements and FIC Regulations 2021
- Excellent communication; both oral and written and excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills
