You will take ownership of the organisation's infrastructure and backend systems, ensuring they are reliable, secure and scalable, while also playing a key role in how the environment evolves over time. The position is predominantly hands-on with an element of leadership, giving you the opportunity to stay close to the technology whilst influencing direction and supporting others.
What You'll Be Doing- Infrastructure Delivery & Projects
- Lead the implementation and deployment of infrastructure solutions
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with design, timelines and business needs
- Carry out testing and validation to ensure performance and reliability
- Maintenance & Optimisation
- Own monitoring, alerting and proactive issue resolution
- Manage patching, upgrades and ongoing system maintenance
- Analyse performance and plan for future capacity requirements
- Security & Compliance
- Embed security best practices across infrastructure environments
- Support vulnerability management, testing and risk mitigation
- Ensure alignment with relevant standards and regulatory requirements
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a small team
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure solutions
- Contribute to architectural and technology decisions
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain clear documentation across systems and processes
- Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the team
- Proven experience in infrastructure engineering within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment and strong knowledge of:
- Virtualisation
