About the Role

Your Teaching is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream school in London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may require additional support managing behaviour, building confidence, improving attendance, or overcoming barriers to learning. You will play an important role in creating a positive learning environment and helping students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring for pupils requiring additional behavioural or pastoral support
  • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement, attendance, and personal development
  • Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and parents to support student progress
  • Monitor and record student behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing where required
  • Promote positive behaviour throughout the school environment
  • Support students during lessons, breaktimes, and other school activities
  • Assist with behaviour interventions and de-escalation strategies in line with school policies
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive decision-making

Person Specification

  • Experience working with children or young people in schools, tutoring, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or similar settings
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Positive, patient, and resilient attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging situations
  • Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals
  • Proactive and adaptable team player
  • Confident working independently and using initiative
