About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and nurturing EYFS Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Croydon from September 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring that all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential in a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate EYFS specialist who is committed to providing outstanding early years education and helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally during the crucial early stages of their learning journey. The school is keen to identify the right candidate as soon as possible and is able to arrange interviews and observation lessons from next week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging EYFS lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes children's development and wellbeing.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, using assessment data to inform planning and next steps.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  • Support the safeguarding and welfare of all children in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including meetings, events, and extracurricular activities where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and other members of the teaching team to ensure excellent outcomes for pupils.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within EYFS, ideally as an EYFS or Reception Teacher.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and creative learning experiences.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching Reception classes.
  • Knowledge of phonics programmes and early literacy development.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • A proactive and reflective approach to professional development.
