About the Role
Your Teaching is currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of educational settings in Croydon, including mainstream primary schools, secondary schools, specialist provisions, and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.
We are looking for adaptable and compassionate individuals who can provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
The Role
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with additional needs
- Supporting learning across primary, secondary, and alternative provision settings
- Assisting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Encouraging engagement, participation, and independence within the classroom
- Supporting positive behaviour strategies and helping pupils remain focused on learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and other support staff
- Delivering targeted interventions where required
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people in schools, tutoring, youth work, care, coaching, or mentoring settings
- Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt to different school environments and student needs
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners and promoting inclusion
- Positive, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
