Your Teaching is currently recruiting experienced Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools in Croydon. We are looking for confident and reliable individuals who have previous experience supervising classes and managing behaviour in a school environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Cover Supervisors seeking flexible work, long-term placements, or routes into permanent school-based positions.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students remain engaged and on task in the absence of their usual teacher. Successful candidates will be confident managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations for learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects during teacher absences
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
  • Supporting student engagement and participation
  • Following safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times
  • Recording attendance, behaviour incidents, and lesson outcomes where required
  • Liaising with teaching and pastoral staff regarding student progress and behaviour

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence leading classes independently
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different schools and year groups
  • Professional, reliable, and punctual approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
