Newham Location: Newham, East London
Salary: Paid to scale
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate / September start
Hours: Full-time, Monday Friday

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Newham, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.

The successful candidate will be confident working with pupils with ASD, PMLD, ADHD, GLD and MLD, and passionate about creating an inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environment.

The Role As an SEN Teacher, you will

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
  • Support pupils with ASD, PMLD, ADHD, GLD and MLD.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans and strategies.
  • Use a range of teaching approaches to support communication, independence and learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents/carers and other professionals.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
  • Create a safe, structured and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development alongside their academic learning.
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

The Ideal Candidate We are looking for an SEN Teacher who is

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experienced working within a SEN/SEND setting.
  • Competent and confident supporting children with ASD, PMLD, ADHD, GLD and MLD.
  • Patient, nurturing and consistent in their approach.
  • Skilled at differentiating lessons to meet a wide range of needs.
  • Confident managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
