English Teacher
to join a supportive specialist setting in
Croydon , working with pupils with
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs . The role will involve teaching
KS3 and KS4 English
within
small class groups , providing a more personalised learning environment where you can build strong relationships with pupils and support them to achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities
Teach engaging and accessible
English lessons across KS3 and KS4 . Support pupils working towards GCSE and other relevant qualifications. Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities. Work with
small classes
to provide focused and personalised support. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils. Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development. Maintain a calm, structured and positive classroom environment. Monitor and assess pupil progress and provide appropriate feedback. Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff. Follow safeguarding, behaviour and school policies at all times. Requirements
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential. Strong subject knowledge in
English . Experience teaching
KS3 and/or KS4 . Experience working with, or a strong understanding of,
SEMH pupils
is highly desirable. Experience within
PRU, alternative provision, SEND or specialist settings
would be advantageous. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. A patient, resilient and nurturing approach. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one. What We Offer
